159th Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island –
Music provided by Quincy Dover
159th Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island –
Attended by Fr. Walter Hillebrand, Deacon Bob White, Warden Ken Cynar and Vestry member Camille Olson and more than 300 clergy and lay people. The two-day gathering was a mixture of faith, piety, committee member elections, serious discussions regarding monies and budget, the message of ”one mission, one church,” impact of government budgets cuts, a farewell speech by Bishop Provenzano and many moments of laughter and thankfulness.
Certainly, the Holy Spirit was in the convention hall with wonderful stories and videos of the positive impact churches in the Diocese are having not only on their members, but on the greater communities they serve. The next gathering of clergy and church lay members will be in April, 2026 when they will vote and select the new Bishop who will lead the Diocese for the coming decades, Would be remiss if I did not compliment the fine music provide by Quincy Dover and his" walk in choir"...they touched our hearts and raised our spirits. – Ken Cynar
