Fr. Walter Hillebrand Appointed Dean of South East Nassau Episcopal Deanery

 

The Very Rev. Dr. Walter V. Hillebrand, rector of Grace Church in Massapequa, has been appointed dean of South East Nassau Episcopal Deanery by the Rt. Rev. Lawrence C. Provenzano, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island. 

As dean, Fr. Hillebrand is responsible for coordinating, supporting and focusing the efforts of the seven churches located in South East Nassau County. 

The deanery comprises seven Episcopal Churches in Nassau County: ST. PAUL'S CHURCH, Roosevelt; HOLY TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH, Hicksville; ST. MICHAEL & ALL ANGELS CHURCH, Seaford; ST. THOMAS' CHURCH, Farmingdale; ST. FRANCIS EPISCOPAL CHURCH, North Bellmore; ST. JUDE CHURCH, Wantagh; and Grace Church,  Massapequa.

Hillebrand was elected 12th rector of Grace Church in 2013. 

In addition to his role as rector of Grace Church, Fr. Hillebrand also serves as head of Grace Day School and Early Childhood Center.

Grace Church, located on Merrick Road and Cedar Shore Drive is Massapequa. traces its roots back to 1844 and has been part of the fabric of the greater Massapequa community for more than five generations.

The Grace Day School and Early Childhood Center operates 50 weeks a year from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm serving 170 children between the ages of three months to  four years.
