Fourteenth Annual Harvest Fair ~ Saturday, September 29  

 

Mark Your Calendars ......volunteer this year..

 

The tradition of celebrating the Fall Harvest on Long Island goes back to Colonial times. It is a time of joy, joining, of community, of sharing and giving thanks.  Become part the this annual event.....Volunteer, Volunteer, Volunteer.....it helps our Church, frees your spirit and gives you that warm feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day.  We need people to help with setting up before, cleaning up after, staffing the various booths, contributing food and items, creating gift baskets, providing security, working with children and joining in the collective group worry hoping for success. 

 

Take a chance and join us!  Donation Boards will be posted in the Narthex soon. Step up and give of yourself to Grace Church and the greater Massapequa community.

 

Lotto Tree: Please donate scratch off Lotto tickets of all denominations. - a project of the Sunday School

 

Crafts - The “crafty” ladies have been working diligently on Monday evenings in the Craft Room to prepare for the fair. Join them for an evening and add your skills to their many projects. All donations are greatly appreciated. Also, them need help setting up before the Fair, selling during the Fair and cleaning up afterwards. for more info please contact Debi Csajko at 516–799-5347

 

Farmers Market - The Farmer’s Market is looking for donations to help offset the costs to make our wonderful jams. We need half-pint size jars, sugar, and pectin. There will be a board in the Narthex with Post-Its of needed donations. Pick a Post-It or two and place your donation in the basket that will be under the Donation request board. (Please do not place in the food bank basket.) Cash donations are always welcome! If you like to chop and stir, please see Barbara Picken & Barbara Staib.  

 

Woodworkers for the Harvest FairDo you like to do woodworking, cutting or painting? We especially need painters! Richard Csajko has projects that you can start working on…so please be sure to see him or call 516-799-5347.        

 

Basket RaffleThe Basket Raffle needs your baskets AND your creativity and participation, so please join with your family or a friend to create and donate a basket. Think about what you would like to win! Baskets can be built around a theme or just one large special item, so take advantage of summer sales! Large baskets and containers as well as merchant gift cards will be needed in the fall.  Thank you for your help. More info call Donna Cynar 797-8849

 

Ellen’s Baked Goods & Kathy’s Comfort FoodsStart digging out those old family favorite recipes to make for our tables. These tables are very popular and we sometimes sell out early in the morning, so we need many donations.  for info call Ellen Ryan or Kathy  

 

The Café Please consider making a donation to help offset the cost of the hamburgers & hot dogs.  Donation board will be in the Narthex. Please see Ellen Ritter.  

 

Grand Raffle:    Chance Booklets will be available this summer buy a booklet or sell some to your friends.  Excellent chance to win three great prizes include a Kayak…A barbeque grill…and an Alexia View AI system.  Watch for more info in the Narthex and check your mail for chance booklets…

 

If you are interested in participating on any level, please be sure to speak up. We are in need of help in quite a few areas: people to distribute flyers at area store parking lots, security at the doors, set up Friday night and Saturday morning, break down Saturday afternoon, just to name a few.  Watch for the sign-up board in the Narthex. 

 

Please be sure to watch for additional information over the summer. Various sign-up sheets will be posted in the Narthex. Everyone’s help is needed before, during and after the fair. Many hands make light work! We would love to see every member of our Parish participate in some way with the Fair.

 

Need your help!  Call me or see me after Church and we will give find you a job to help make the Harvest Fair a success. 

 

There will be volunteer forms for the Fair in the Narthex in June....fill them out and leave them with an usher and you will be contacted.
