September 6, Sunday - Grace Episcopal Church Prayers of Remembrance
The Community is invited to the 8:00am or 10:00am Mass with the Prayers of Remembrance on the 25th anniversary of the 911 attack honoring those citizens, responders, volunteer firefighters, and rescue workers who lost their lives on the day and since from the illnesses linked to their recovery efforts at Ground Zero.
September 9, Wednesday - Oyster Bay Town to Host 9-11 & Walls of Honor Ceremony September 9th at TOBAY Beach
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board invite residents to the Town’s Annual September 11th Memorial Ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, September 9th at 7:00 p.m. at TOBAY Beach. The town’s 9/11 Memorial – featuring a steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center – is inscribed with the names of residents lost on September 11, 2001. The Walls of Honor monument expands each year with newly inscribed names of those who lost their battle with 9/11-illness caused by exposure at Ground Zero.

As we mark 25 years, we remain committed to ensuring that the lives, courage, and sacrifices of that day are never forgotten. We will always remember. We will never forget. Nassau County officials and local fire officials recently broke ground on a newly upgraded and revamped Sept. 11 memorial at Eisenhower Park. Designed to replace the aging and faded previous structure ahead of the 25th anniversary, the new black granite monument specifically honors local first responders, volunteer firefighters, and rescue workers who lost their lives on the day of the attacks or from illnesses linked to their recovery efforts at Ground Zero.

September 11, 2026, marks the solemn 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States. A quarter of a century later, the promise to "Never Forget" remains a deeply vital pledge, particularly as more than 100 million Americans are now too young to remember the day firsthand. This milestone anniversary brings a heightened focus across the country to honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost, the immense bravery of the first responders, and the families still enduring the lifelong impacts of that tragedy.
